Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have spent almost $14 million since moving to New York City six months ago.  The couple moved to the Big Apple as Katie prepared to make her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons.

Most of the cash went towards buying three apartments in the block where they are staying.

Holmes has seen been called “Manhattan’s Most Valued Shopper” by The New York Post. “She has been valiantly doing her bit to boost our economy,” the paper said.

Katie spent an estimated $7,315 on dinner tabs at top restaurants like Balthazar and Nobu; she’s also reportedly spent more than $17,000  on clothes for herself and her toddler Suri, and $13,987 on child care.

Amy Winehouse is spending a lot of time at the beach in St. Lucia bathing topless.  I did us all a favor and refused to publish those images.  She’s been repeatedly pictured in the arms of an unidentified man.

Meanwhile, Amy’s vacation will soon be coming to an end — she’s due to make a court appearance on drug charges in Norway on January 12.

The Norwegian prosecutor told the media, “I was informed by British police on Dec. 23 that she has been legally summoned, and we expect that she will be there when the trial opens on Jan. 12.”

Heather Locklear’s lawyer entered a plea of no contest to reckless driving charges on Friday to avoid DUI charges. Locklear was not present at the court hearing.

The former and possible future “Melrose Place” star was arrested on September 28 for driving under the influence of prescription drugs and was reportedly pulled over by police after she was observed “driving erratically” after leaving a parking lot.

No alcohol or illegal narcotics were in Heather Locklear’s system but the D.A. reported high amounts of prescription medication following a blood test.

Effective January 1st, text messaging while driving has been banned in California. There is in addition to an existing ban on talking on cell phones without using a hands-free device in the state. California is not acting alone, as 29 other states and the District of Columbia have laws against using cell phones while behind the wheel.

Other laws taking effect in California on Jan. 1 is requiring state certification for massage therapists. This law is aimed to distinguish legitimate massage therapists from massage parlors that are fronts for prostitution rings. New standards of care will be required for animals sold in pet stores and state marriage license forms will be altered to make it easier for men to take the name of their wife when they marry.

Actor Matt Dillon was arrested last night in Vermont for driving 106 mph. The Associated Press reported the posted speed limit at 65 mph.

The star of the movie “Crash” was pulled over shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday night in Newbury while driving a rented 2009 Chevrolet Impala.

On January 21, the 44-year-old actor is scheduled to appear in Orange County Vermont court where he faces a $300 fine and up to three months in jail.

Defiant governor Rod Blagojevich has defied party leaders by naming Obama’s Senate Replacement in a surprise move on Tuesday. Blagojevich’s appointment Roland Burris adds racially charged heat to a fire already burning out of control.

“I was asked if he would appoint me, would I accept, and the answer is yes,” Burris said.

Senate Democrats responded with a statement that the appointment is not fair to Burris or the people of Illinois:

“It is truly regrettable that despite requests from all 50 Democratic senators and public officials throughout Illinois, Gov. Blagojevich would take the imprudent step of appointing someone to the United States Senate who would serve under a shadow and be plagued by questions of impropriety,” the statement said. said the statement.

President-elect Obama issued a statement supporting democratic leaders:

“Roland Burris is a good man and a fine public servant, but the Senate Democrats made it clear weeks ago they cannot accept an appointment made by a governor who is accused of selling this very Senate seat.”

Team trainers report that Romo sustained rib damage during the game. Doctors may be able to source some cartilage from Romo’s - girlfriend’s - sister’s - nosejob to repair the damage, as the cases of waste are said to be stored at a bulk storage facility in Simi Valley.
